They must not apply for their visa more than 3 months before the start date of the job listed on the certificate.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Defined certificates<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]These are for people applying on a Skilled Worker visa from outside the UK. Company must apply for defined certificates for these workers through the sponsorship management system (SMS).[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Undefined certificates<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]These are for Skilled Workers applying from inside the UK, and applicants on all other visas.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>If you\u2019re sponsoring a UK Expansion Worker<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]If Sponsor licence has a provisional rating,\u00a0company will only be able to assign one certificate of sponsorship. This must be assigned to the authorising officer so they can enter the UK.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]Once they\u2019ve got their visa, Company can upgrade its licence to an A-rating and request up to 4 additional certificates of sponsorship using the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/sponsor-management-system\">sponsorship management system (SMS)<\/a><\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Certificate costs<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]Sponsor needs to pay a fee when it assigns a certificate to a worker.
