The foreign worker must be assigned to work for a business that has links to their original employer in order for them to be eligible for employment in the United Kingdom (also known as an intra-company transfer).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After receiving a Senior or Specialist Worker Visa, there is no guarantee that one will be granted permission to permanently reside in the UK. In any event, you may be able to switch to a different category of immigration that does lead to permanent residence if you try hard enough. Applicants are allowed to include their wives and children who are financially dependent on them as part of their application.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]A Senior or Specialist Worker visa allows you to come to or stay in the UK to do an eligible job at your employer\u2019s UK branch.<\/p>\n<p><u>This visa has replaced the Intra-company Transfer visa<\/u>, previously the Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long-term Staff visa.<\/p>\n<p>If you are on a graduate trainee programme, you\u2019ll need to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/graduate-trainee-visa\">apply for a Graduate Trainee visa<\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]To qualify for a Senior or Specialist Worker visa, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be an existing employee of an organisation that\u2019s been approved by the Home Office as a sponsor<\/li>\n<li>have a \u2018certificate of sponsorship\u2019 from your employer with information about the work you will do in the UK<\/li>\n<li>do a job that\u2019s on the list of eligible occupations<\/li>\n<li>be paid at least \u00a342,400 per year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How long you can stay<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]You can stay in the UK with a Senior or Specialist Worker visa for whichever is shorter of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the time given on your certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days<\/li>\n<li>5 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you\u2019re already in the UK with an Intra-company visa or a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long-term Staff visa you can apply to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/senior-specialist-worker-visa\/extend-your-visa\">extend your stay as a Senior or Specialist Worker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum total stay allowed for a Senior and Specialist Worker visa is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 years in any 6 year period if you\u2019re paid less than \u00a373,900 a year<\/li>\n<li>9 years in any 10 year period if you\u2019re paid \u00a373,900 a year or more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any time you spend in the UK on one of the following visas will be included in your maximum total stay:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intra-company Graduate Trainee visa<\/li>\n<li>Intra-company Transfer visa<\/li>\n<li>Graduate Trainee visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<li>Secondment Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<li>Senior or Specialist Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<li>Service Supplier visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<li>UK Expansion Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The maximum time you could now stay in the UK on a Global Business Mobility visa is 2 years. At the end of that time you would need to spend another 6 months outside the UK before you would be eligible for a Global Business Mobility visa.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>If you had a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long-term Staff visa before 6 April 2011<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]You can stay in the UK for as long as your employer is sponsoring you if you\u2019ve been in the UK since 6 April 2011 on any of the following visas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long-term Staff visa<\/li>\n<li>Intra-company Transfer visa<\/li>\n<li>Senior or Specialist Worker visa (Global Business Mobility)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is no maximum stay.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Family<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]You can include\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/senior-specialist-worker-visa\/your-partner-and-children\">your partner and children<\/a>\u00a0in your application to stay in the UK if they are eligible.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How much it costs<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]You, your partner or children will each need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>pay the application fee<\/li>\n<li>pay the healthcare surcharge for each year of your stay<\/li>\n<li>prove you have enough personal savings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/senior-specialist-worker-visa\/how-much-it-costs\"><strong>Check how much it costs<\/strong><\/a>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How long it takes<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]You can apply for a visa up to 3 months before the day you are due to start work in the UK. This date is listed on your certificate of sponsorship.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Getting a decision<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]Once you\u2019ve applied online, proved your identity and provided your documents, you\u2019ll usually get a decision on your visa within:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 weeks, if you\u2019re outside the UK<\/li>\n<li>8 weeks, if you\u2019re inside the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;10&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What you can and cannot do<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]With a Senior or Specialist Worker visa you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>work for your sponsor in the job described in your certificate of sponsorship<\/li>\n<li>study<\/li>\n<li>bring\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/senior-specialist-worker-visa\/your-partner-and-children\">your partner and children <\/a>with you as your \u2018dependants\u2019, if they\u2019re eligible<\/li>\n<li>do voluntary work<\/li>\n<li>travel abroad and return to the UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You cannot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>apply for most benefits,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/public-funds--2\">public funds<\/a>, or the State Pension<\/li>\n<li>change jobs unless you are eligible and you\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/senior-specialist-worker-visa\/update-your-visa\">update your visa<\/a><\/li>\n<li>have a second job &#8211; unless you\u2019ve previously had an Intra-company Transfer visa or a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) Long term Staff visa<\/li>\n<li>apply to settle permanently in the UK (also known as \u2018indefinite leave to remain\u2019)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your application is successful, you\u2019ll get a full list of what you can and cannot do with a Senior or Specialist Worker visa.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row
