This is in addition to the money you must have to support yourself.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]How much money they need depends on where you will be studying. They must have either:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a3845 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3680 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]If you\u2019re applying at the same time as your partner or child (you\u2019re applying together as a family), you\u2019ll need to prove you have both\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/student-visa\/money\">money to pay for your course and to support yourself<\/a>\u00a0and additional money for each of them.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4>When they do not need to prove they have money to support themselves<\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]Your partner or child does not need to prove they have this money if they\u2019ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]As part of their application, they\u2019ll need to have their fingerprints and photograph taken at a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/find-a-visa-application-centre\">visa application center<\/a>\u00a0(to get a biometric residence permit).[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]They\u2019ll have to collect their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/biometric-residence-permits\">biometric residence permit<\/a>\u00a0within 10 days of when they said they\u2019d arrive in the UK.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]They may be able to pay to get their visa faster or use other services depending on which country they\u2019re in &#8211; check with the visa application center.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"color: #fff;\">How long they can stay<\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]If their application is successful, their visa will end on the same date as yours.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #fff;\">Apply inside the UK to extend or switch<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;10&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]Apply for your partner or child\u2019s visa at the same time as you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/student-visa\/extend-your-visa\">extend<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/student-visa\/switch-to-this-visa\">switch<\/a>\u00a0your own visa.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221; up=&#8221;5&#8243; down=&#8221;5&#8243;][vc_column_text]If you cannot apply at the same time, your partner or child can apply to extend or switch their visas at a later date &#8211; this must be before their current visa expires.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=&#8221;transparent&#8221;
